The fate of "Constantine" Season 2 has been addressed by co-showrunner Daniel Cerone recently, following rumblings that the short-lived series is getting resurrected by the CW network.

"Constantine," which stars Matt Ryan as the titular character, has been cancelled by NBC after only one season in 2015. The show's soft ratings, unfortunately was the main reason for getting the series axed.

However, fans of the series have expressed their disappointment over NBC's decision - to the point that they have campaigned for "Constantine" Season 2 to get renewed elsewhere. While it's not uncommon for other networks or digital platforms to pick up a booted show, the fans' efforts still did not prompt a potential future for the DC comics-based series.

Recently, Bleeding Cool dropped that there were talks from the CW network on reviving "Constantine," but that did not develop into something concrete and official as well. Cerone addressed this issue earlier this month on Twitter, advising fans that he will keep an eye if the ongoing rumblings prove to be true.

"I see there are new rumblings of #Constantine on CW," the showrunner said.

"I've heard nothing but will put out some feelers and see what I can learn. #Hellblazers"

A few days later, Cerone finally gave fans the hard truth that "Constantine" Season 2 is actually not happening. He explained that although "Constantine" is currently streaming on the CW Seed, it is not any indication that it will land an official spot on the network's primetime lineup - since it is a separate division.

"Checked with execs and CW Seed (streaming #Constantine) is separate from CW Network," the showrunner said. "So no current plans to bring back show. :( #Hellblazers"

While this is the case, the showrunner remains hopeful that "Constantine" Season 2 will happen elsewhere. He insists that for as long as series star Matt Ryan is alive, there is always a possibility.
