After a year of waiting, gamers of "WoW" now have less than a month more to wait before the release of the game's sixth expansion, "World of Warcraft: Legion."  But before they get their hands on the expansion, game developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment is making the necessary preparations to heat things up.

Blizzard released the extended preview of the expansion on Aug. 1, which starts with the voice over saying that a terrible darkness has returned to annihilate everyone that people hold dear.  It gives a glimpse of new zones, demon invasions, the new area called Broken Isles, and the new class called Demon Hunter.  It also shows some of the major features, like forging one's artifact, new combat animations, world quests, the new player vs player honor system, class halls, champion followers, and the dungeons.

Last week, the game developer announced the pre-expansion that they will be offering.

"We're pleased to announce that the next stage in the World of Warcraft: Legion pre-expansion experience will kick off on August 9!" reads the announcement posted on July 29. "With maintenance in each region, starting on August 9, the Burning Legion's incursion on Azeroth will get underway, and players who have pre-purchased the expansion will begin creating their first Demon Hunters."

This means that those who pre-order "WoW: Legion" will get early access, and they will be the first to face the Burning Legion as they start invading Azeroth.  It will be made available globally no later than Aug. 17.

In the explanation given by Blizzard, gamers will be able to see the location of the invasion using their world map.  Nethershards are given as a reward after each of the four stages in the demon invasion. The invasions become more intense after a week so there are bigger chances of collecting rare weapons, and the Nethershards they collect can be used to obtain transmogrification armor.

The new expansion raises the level cap by 10, from the current level of 100 to 110, in the Broken Isles. The classes have 36 unique artifact weapons based on their specializations, which can be obtained by finishing quests.

"World of Warcraft: Legion" will be released on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
