La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid is set to lock in their two superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale with new contract extensions for both footballers.
The Bernabéu giants have already reached an agreement with the three-time Ballon d'Or winner that would retain him until 2020 or 2021, as per The Sun. The exact length of the deal is still undisclosed but Ronaldo is said to be set to earn the same salary of €21 million net per season he had been receiving from Real at the moment.
The report also said that Ronaldo, his agent Jorge Mendes, and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez are set to meet in the Spanish capital city on Wednesday next week to finalize the deal as the Portuguese captain is still on vacation after competing and getting injured in Portugal's recent Euro 2016 title win.
Rumors went out early this year that the 31-year-old forward is ready to move on from his seven-year stay at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium this summer after cash-rich clubs Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain were reported to be interested in acquiring his services.
However, Los Vikingos may have wanted all the speculations to stop as they signed Ronaldo to an extension that could make him stay with the club until his retirement. Ronaldo will be 36 years old in 2021 should the contract be finalized as a five-year one.
Meanwhile, Caught Offside reported that Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, is "already in talks with the club over a new deal for his client" as well.
The 27-year-old Welshman's current deal will expire in 2019 and a new one is expected to extend until 2021, just like Ronaldo's.
Unlike Ronaldo, though, Bale will reportedly receive a salary increase from the £145,000 weekly wage he is currently receiving to £160,000 per week.
Ronaldo has appeared in a total of 348 games in all competitions for Los Blancos in his seven seasons with the club and had scored an amazing 364 times, which is more than one goal per game.
Bale, who was acquired from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for a world transfer record of £85 million, has been at the Bernabéu for three seasons, appearing in 123 matches in all competitions and scoring 58 goals.
