"Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner is not happy that the HBO fantasy series is ending. In an interview, the portrayer of Sansa Stark revealed that she might find herself depressed when the show finally concludes.
Following the cable network's announcement that "Game of Thrones" will end after Season 8, Turner has spoken up about her feelings now that Sansa's story is about to end. Speaking with Variety, Turner confirmed that the cast were aware that the fantasy series will only run for seven to eight seasons. However, the actress was not able to take the news lightly.
"It's really sad. It's really uncomfortable to think about my life without 'Game of Thrones.' Not only has it been like a family - going to see a family every summer - but it's also been a safety net," Turner said.
"When I finish this I don't actually know what's going to happen. I might slip into a deep, deep depression because I won't know what to do with myself."
Turner has been part of "Game of Thrones" since its debut as Sansa Stark. Over the years, her character developed into a woman of strength - which began after suffering multiple acts of violence under the hands of Ramsay Bolton. In Season 6, Sansa was finally able to take down her tormentor, an event that marked one of her best scenes.
Moving forward, Turner posited various possibilities for Sansa after having read the scripts of "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Apart from teaming up with Jon Snow or Littlefinger, she teased that viewers might even find Sansa becoming a sadistic villain. Whether or not Sansa Stark will face death, the actress did not dismiss the idea; but not without offering a few ideas of her own demise.
"A long, slow episode-lasting death, where it's just one long scene of my death and no one else," she joked.
"And it's going to be the last episode of the last season."
A potential spinoff of "Game of Thrones" is also in the works, Entertainment Weekly reported last month. Further details are expected to be announced soon after the original series ends. Co-creators DB Weiss and David Benioff will also work on the offshoot.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is slated to premiere in the summer of 2017.
