Earlier rumors of "Thor" actress Natalie Portman were confirmed to be true that she is "done" with Marvel, possibly for the time being. Additionally, she will not be returning as Thor's love interest Jane Foster in the upcoming movie "Thor: Ragnarok."

According to Independent, although Portman truly had a wonderful experience with MCU and her fellow actors and actresses, she stated there were numerous reasons why she made her choice. However, she did open a possibility that maybe "one day they'll ask for an Avengers 7 or whatever", she would reprise her role.

In the meantime, the Oscar-winning actress would be pretty busy with future roles in movies such as Terrence Malick's "Weightless", playing the role of Jackie Kennedy in "Jackie", and Xavier Dolan's "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan."

In an article from Design & Trend, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said there were "many reasons" why Portman's character Jane Foster was also taken out of the upcoming movie. Audiences will also be getting explanations in the film on why the Norse god's love interest will be absent.

Feige also explained that the film will only feature a few scenes on Earth, while the rest of it "takes place in the cosmos." He also explained that Foster's presence will make little sense in the story set in outer space or somewhere beyond.

Portman's character Jane Foster will not be the only character absent in the film. Stellan Skarsgård's character Erik Selvig will also not be present in the third movie, possibly due to Thor's absence on earth.

However, the absence of Jane Foster will not mean a lack of love interest for the god of thunder. Jaimie Alexander will be reprising her role as Lady Sif and, based on the first and second movie, there were hints of a romantic connection between her and Thor.

Additionally, Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson will also be casted in the third movie. It is unsure, though, that either of them will also play a love interest for the hero.  Marvel has not revealed much on the roles they'll be taking but it is speculated that Blanchett might take the role of a villainess.

In other news, Mark Ruffalo will return as the Hulk and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
