"Stranger Things" co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer recently dished on the fate of Barbara and Dr. Brenner.

In Season 1, Barbara 'Barb' (Shannon Purser) and Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) were shown to have died after getting trapped in a fatal encounter with the Demogordon. However, given the science and occult connections of the show, fans theorize that the two may be brought back again since the passing of both characters were not addressed.

To address the questions, Matt Duffer said that return to life for Barbara is unlikely but her death would be catalyst for a few storylines down the road, IGN reported.

"People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn't seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We're just not spending any screen time on it," he said.

A season 2 pickup for "Stranger Things" is imminent although Netflix is yet to make an announcement. One possible storyline to be pursued on the second season is getting justice for Barb, Deadline reported.

As for Dr. Brenner who was presumably killed off-screen, Matt said that there is a huge possibility of seeing the mad doctor again. He said that the character's supposed death is unwarranted.

"I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner... as an audience member watching the show, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me - when the monster jumps on him and we cut away. He would deserve much more than that as an ending. So yes, there's a possibility of seeing him again," he explains.
