Korean drama "Doctors" was reported to finish script and filming its last episode. The filming was finalized on the same day as the final episode airing date this week.
A source from SBS made a statement that writer Ha Myung-hee cut it close with the completion of the script according to Soompi.
"Writer Ha Myung Hee completed the script for "Doctors" on August 19," the source said. However the filming of the drama has not yet finished. It is expected the entire shooting to be wrapped up on the same day as the final episode to be aired on Tuesday night.
"Doctors" gained international fame since its premiere in June. Kim Rae-won and Park Sin-hye is the lead actors in the hospital drama. The drama tells a love story between a female doctor Yoo Hye Jung (Park) with her colleague, Hong Ji Hong who was her former high school teacher (Kim).
In the earlier episode, Hye Jung's grandmother passed away on the operating table due to the negligence of doctor Jin Myung Hoon. The story then move fast forward 13 years, when Hye Jyung has become a doctor and work at the same hospital that operated her grandmother. Ji Hong later joined the hospital after returning from United States.
The final episode revealed a surprising twist. The negligent doctor, Myung Hoon is now the president of the hospital where the two doctors work. Although Ji Hong has his own agenda to expose his malicious practice, but Hye Jung has held her grudge for 13 years, and she is ready to explode.
"Doctors" is an international hit due to on-screen chemistry between Kim and Park. The story of personal struggles of the two doctors makes the story more interesting.
Fans who expected the story to end well are satisfied with the final episode. There are rumor and speculation of the sequel as Asia Times reported. However, SBS has not made any official announcement to extend the series or to create its sequel.
