With the "Soul Calibur" series having 2-6 year gap between their games, it may be possible that Bandai Namco may be working on a sixth installment. Although there have not been any official announcements yet, there are a few rumors of the game possibly being the in the works.
Rumors have been spreading that the next "Soul Calibur" game may be continuation to the series or even a reboot. Bandai Namco, however, hasn't made any official statements yet on the matter.
According to Segment Next, the possibility of having "Soul Calibur 6" was teased with a few leaked photos from the internet. The said concept art appear to originate from the site of Malaysian production company Passion Republic.
The concept art showed different poses and costumes for a handful of characters from the previous games such as Natsu, Kilik, Nightmare, and Sophitia. Except for Natsu, the mentioned characters also looked somewhat younger than their counterparts in the earlier game, hinting at a possible remake of the series.
Event Hubs had an earlier post that hinted the possibility of "Soul Calibur" teasing the new game through a series of "guess who" posts and character votes. In their official Facebook page, they have been pretty active in communicating with people longing for a new title. Although, all these gimmicks might be due to the fact that Bandai Namco is celebrating its 20th anniversary and just getting people to participate for the fun of it.
"Soul Calibur" has been around since 1999 and have been getting positive reviews since. The fantasy-themed fighting game boasts of a combat gameplay that utilizes different weapons and fighting styles with a combination of high and low attacks. One of the series' best features is the story mode that showcases each character's unique backstory and gameplay.
