Netflix's "Luke Cage" reportedly overlaps with the timeline of "Daredevil" Season 2, Charlie Cox reveals. Cox plays Matt Murdoch aka Daredevil on the eponymously titled series.
So far, the timelines of Marvel properties under streaming giant Netflix are in chronological order. Following Colter's appearances in "Jessica Jones," the timelines for "Daredevil" Season 2, "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage" may have overlapped.
In an interview, Cox told Comic Book Resources about an anecdote with Rosario Dawson who plays Claire Temple, filming a scene supposedly for "Luke Cage."
"One thing that I thought was really cool is that in the second season, we had a scene together and in the storyline we hadn't seen each other for a long time and it takes place at the hospital, Rosario has a cut in her eyebrow. So I was like, 'What is that?' Apparently it had nothing to do with our world but it's part of Luke Cage," he said.
Colter has confirmed that "Luke Cage" Season 1 picks up a few months after the conclusion of "Jessica Jones" Season 1, Screen Rant reported. Dawson who also made an appearance on "Jessica Jones" spoke about the unusual nature of her character's timeline within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apparently, she has no idea and said that her character is a standalone on that sense.
"I've been signing on every year just on its own... I've had a different sort of experience where I really don't know. And then when I do sign up, I sign up for episodes, but they don't tell me which shows," she explained.
Dawson's character serves as the link between the New York based superheroes of the three separate shows. "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," alongside "Iron Fist" will be teaming up in a crossover mini-series called, "The Defenders" under the same network.
"Luke Cage" will premiere on September 30, 2016.
