There had been conflicting reports with regards to the real status of French striker Loic Remy with English Premier League side Chelsea FC this season.

The 2016-2017 Premier League season is already entering its third week of competitions this weekend and the 29-year-old France international has yet to be fielded in by new boss Antonio Conte.

Remy had been the subject of transfer speculations since the former Italian national team head coach arrived last month and it has not let up ever since.

There were even reports that Conte included the Frenchman plus goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in his £65 million bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, but the Toffees are firm that their asking price is £75 million so the deal fell through.

Caught Offside reported that Turkish Süper Lig champions Besiktas JK is targeting Remy a few days before the English summer transfer window is set to close with team president Fikret Orman said to have "flown into London to hold talks with Chelsea over the signing" of the out-of-place striker.

The report said that it was Orman's second visit to England with the hopes of signing Remy to a season-long loan deal that will cover "€3.5 million of Remy's €4.5 million per-season salary".

Besiktas is reportedly eyeing Remy to replace lead striker Mario Gomez, who joined Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg last week.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star indicated that the Blues had already reached a loan deal with fellow Premier League team Crystal Palace for Remy with the "option to buy the Frenchman permanently for around £10.3 million at the end of the season".

The report came as a surprise as it almost simultaneously came out with the forward's links to Besiktas, which means only time will tell which rumor is meant to push through.

Remy was acquired by the Pensioners from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2014 for a fee of £10.5 million. In his two seasons with the Blues, not including the recently-opened one, the 6-foot-1 Rillieux-la-Pape, France native had appeared in a total of 47 games in all competitions and had scored 12 times as he struggled for first-team opportunities behind first-choice center-forward Diego Costa.
