With fans eagerly waiting for Electronic Art's new title "Mass Effect Andromeda," rumors on having a remastered version for the entire series have been hinted. Executive vice president Patrick Soderlund himself mentioned about a possibility of that happening.
Game Informer reported that Soderlund that EA was initially not taking that direction. But, ever since people in the market nowadays have been calling for it even more so than last year, he would consider it.
However, EA would not just jump into the remaster bandwagon without carefully considering the risks it brings. Soderlund mentioned about "choosing the right brands for the right reasons at the right time."
He added that it takes careful planning to remaster games "well," stating that while there may be games that have been successfully remastered, there are those that have not. If there are any "Mass Effect" remasters, Soderlund would want players to "feel that it's the same game" but in its "new shape and form."
In the meantime, Soderlund also promised revealing more on "Mass Effect Andromeda" soon, according to Vine Report. While stating that the game in its pre-release is very playable, EA's executive vice president explained that there is no need to showcase just yet. He said that the game will get its reveal at the "right time for it."
Even with the game in the making, the team is not focusing on "Mass Effect Andromeda" for the time being. Other big titles are being worked on for October through December, but Soderlund made sure that will jump straight to working on "Andromeda" once finished.
Meanwhile, the big titles that EA is currently working on include "Battlefield 1" and "Titanfall 2." Both are set for release on Oct. 28, 2016. Both games are also currently having tech tests, though "Battlefield 1" is set for an open beta by the end of August.
Gamers expect "Mass Effect Andromeda" to be released early next year.
