The tension drastically increases in "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 56 as Black Goku finally faces the Saiyans. Set in the future, the evil Goku shows his Super Saiyan Rose transformation and goes head-to-head against Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta and Super Saiyan Blue Goku.
In the previous episode, Bulma finally managed to finish fixing the broken time machine.Goku and Vegeta rode it with Future Trunks and they travel to his proper time. What they saw there is a city in ruins, apparently with no one in sight. Men in uniform eventually showed up and targeted Goku with their weapons. The episode ended with the protagonist facing multiple mortar shells meant to blast him to smithereens.
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 56 starts with Trunks seeing the danger and slicing the mortar shells with his sword. Apparently, the resistance respects the blue-haired young man.It is then revealed that the men are part of the resistance who are trying to fight against Black.They take the newcomers to the new base to meet Mai, who Trunks is only too glad to see alive, and she tells them that their old base was attacked by Black.
Vegeta declares that is the one who will defeat the enemy, and no amount of complaint from Goku or request from Trunks could change his mind.
Meanwhile, Black looks over the devastation that he caused and says that the future is bright after the world is rid of the pests called humans. And as he gloats to himself of this future utopia, he sees a light - one that Vegeta conjures to bring him out. He arrives and Vegeta wastes no time powering up to Super Saiyan Blue.
Black is not surprised and he appears in front of a Vegeta in an instant, so fast that the latter is not even able to anticipate it. Black talks to them about being only "human," which prompts Trunks to think that this is a god, perhaps Zamasu.
Vegeta's attacks have not effect on Black. The latter then decides to power up into Super Saiyan Rose, giving him pink hair and an aura of purple and crimson. Vegeta fights again but is stabbed by an aura-like pink blade from Black's hand, and he falls.
Goku powers up into Super Saiyan Blue and faces Black but is no match for the antagonist. Then Black poses to throw a Kamehameha but is stopped by a voice. Zamasu then descends from the sky.
"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 57, titled "The Immortal God: Zamasu," seems to be an episode where Goku has to face the god. Trunks is also likely to join the fray.
Meanwhile, according to Forbes, Toonami is working on getting an English version of "Dragon Ball Super." There is no word yet on when this is going to happen, but given the wide fan base of the Dragon Ball franchise, many are hoping and expecting a version for non-Japanese speakers.
