Disappointed fans of American series "Limitless" are hitting CBS after the TV network dropped the show with Netflix and Amazon declining to pick up for another installment. As a result, fans are calling out to CBS through an online petition to turn the table and renew "Limitless" for season 2.
The online petition which aims to garner 25,000 signatures now has 21,233 supporters. Commenters said "Limitless" is a well-written show and that it deserves a few more seasons to wrap things up for Jake McDorman and the rest of the cast members.
"This is my favorite show. To end it now is a disgrace, CBS, because I and so many other people are going to follow it to whatever NZT-addicted channel decides to pick it up," a fan wrote.
In May, showrunner Craig Sweeny announced "Limitless" will not be renewed on any platform; however, CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said there is a possibility that the TV series will still continue although this would be with another network. "Right now we are in discussions with other buyers," he said as noted by Deadline.
"Limitless" series is a TV adaptation of a 2011 film of the same title. The TV series was launched originally on CBS in September 2015. After the first part of its season finale aired last April 19, the viewership ratings of "Limitless" remained stable reportedly due to the delay of broadcasting.
For the first part of its season finale, "Limitless" garnered a viewership rating of 1.1, which shows that the TV series has failed to attract more viewers towards the end of the TV series, The Wrap reported.
Although the figures recorded by the TV series can be considered decent, it still uncertain whether "Limitless" will be renewed for season 2 or not.
