The drama following the aftermath of the "DOTA 2" The International 2016 tournament continues as several major teams have disbanded while other teams confirmed the departure of some of their senior members. The entire "DOTA 2" community was shocked when five top-level teams announced their break-up.

According to Yahoo News, the teams that confirmed their disbandment were Vici Gaming, Invictus Gaming, LGD Gaming, Newbee, and CDEC Gaming. Along with these top-level teams are their smaller umbrella teams as well namely Vici Gaming Reborn, iG.Vitality, CDEC Avenger, and Newbee Young.

The news shocked the whole "DOTA 2" community, especially the Chinese scene. Reasons regarding the disbandment were not disclosed. However, there are rumors claiming that teams' decision to disband was because of the high level of poaching for talent in the Chinese "DOTA 2" scene.

Outside of China, the Filipino squad TNC captained by Jimmy "DeMoN" Ho also announced that they are disbanding, according to Bleacher Report. TNC made the headlines of the 2016 The International tournament when they eliminated the tournament-favorite OG during the early rounds of the playoffs. TNC finished seventh place at the tournament.

Aside from breakups, major "DOTA 2" teams around the world also announced some major roster change. North American team Evil Geniuses, champion of the 2015 The International, announced the departure of veteran player Clinton "Fear" Loomis, Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan, and newcomer Ludwig "zai" Wahlberg.

Swedish team Alliance also announced the departure of team captain Gustav "s4" Magnusson, veteran player Henrik "AdmiralBulldog" Ahnberg, and Joakim "Akke" Akterhall. Team Fnatic announced that three of its players will be leaving the team as well. They are Zheng "Miduan" Yeik Nai, Djardel Jicko B. "DJ" Mampusti, Adam Erwann Shah "343" bin Akhtar Hussein.

MVP Phoenix announced the departure of Kim "Febby" Yong-min, "Pyo "MP" No-a, "Lee "Forev" Sang-don. Lastly, team compLexity announced the departure of "Rasmus "Cheesie" Blomdin, Simon, "Handsken" Haag, and Linus "Limmp" Blomdin.
