It is likely that SHINee will be making some changes for their comeback this month. In a statement, SM Entertainment hinted the group's comeback might be delayed to give Onew more time to recover from his ankle injury.
It can be remembered that Onew sprained his ankle during the "SHINee World V" concert last Sept. 5. Although the injury is not serious, the SHINee member was advised by his doctors to rest, Soompi reported.
"After a check up, he was told that if he minimized his movements and got some rest, he would be okay. In order to protect his ankle, he is wearing a small cast, and will be receiving continuous check ups to see how it's healing," SM Entertainment announced.
The agency released another statement to address concerns looming after Onew's injury that might affect the planned comeback of the group. "SHINee is preparing for comeback this month. It seems that Onew will not have much problems preparing together. However, we will be making adjustments as his healing progresses," Allkpop quoted Sm Entertainment as saying.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the recent "SHInee World V" concert in Seoul served as a comeback show for the group. Aside from that, SHINee is reportedly working on a new album they will be launching in their return supposedly before the month ends.
Despite Onew's injury, SHINee's concert over the weekend was considered a huge success as thousands of fans came to witness them perform onstage. Not only that, popular Kpop idols also joined the jam-packed arena to support SHINee. Some of these were Taeyeon and Seohyun of SNSD, Xiumin of EXO, Hyeri of Girl's Day, TEN, and Gong Myung of 5urprise.
Get well soon, Onew!
