Bethesda Softworks and id Software's latest "Doom" installment has been a commercial and critical success ever since its release early on May 13. The fast-paced action shooter is said to be receiving new updates and content which is planned for release this year.
Now with a new trailer released by Bethesda, according to DualShockers, the game will be receiving said updates that will include a new content for multiplayer: which is the ever famous Deathmatch mode. Other features comprise of Private matches and a new Arcade mode for players.
The game already has modes where you play as a demon, Freeze Tag, a game mode called Warpath (which is technically King of the Hill), and, of course, Team Deathmatch. Speaking of Deathmatch, as stated by Engadget, this upcoming update will actually include a free-for-all Deathmatch mode, which will not require teaming up with strangers online.
Nothing much has been revealed about the update just yet, but it does show on how the gameplay of the Deathmatch mode plays out. Of course, players will be delighted to run and jump around and shoot rockets and shotgun pellets, executing multi-kills and fast-paced tactics, just as how a Deathmatch game should be.
Although the trailer hasn't shown anything else but short teasers of the update, Bethesda will actually reveal more information on these modes. They will also showcase a gameplay of said modes in a livestream on Sept. 13 on 11 AM PT on the official Xbox Twitch channel.
Id Software will be bringing in executive producer Marty Stratton and creative director Hugo Martin will be discussing the details during the livestream, giving a players a taste of what's to come in the update.
