When "Scorpion" returns for Season 3, Paige and co. will be tasked to take down a group of hackers.

"Scorpion" will feature a daunting storyline on its two-hour Season 3 opener. According to the official plot synopsis, the first part of the premiere will find Team Scorpion on a mission to take down a group of anonymous hackers who are taking control of the US military aircraft and warships. The situation will get more intense when they discover that the hackers are pointing the weapons in US soil.

On the second hour, meanwhile, the team will be shocked to learn that a US nuclear submarine has also been hacked as they work on their strategy against the hackers. To make things worse, they discover that there's a missile about to launch that could bring detrimental effects. Whether or not Team Scorpion can overcome this challenge is yet to be determined.

In addition to a hacking ordeal, "Scorpion" will also tackle the relationships involving its main characters when it returns this fall. In Season 2, the series capped off with a cliffhanger leaving fans worried about the future of Toby and Happy. According to executive producer Nick Wootton, Happy's secretly married status will very much affect the whole team.

"This is certainly going to reverberate through the entire team," the showrunner told TV Line.

"It's our kicking-off point for the next season, for the emotional stories. How is this going to play out? Who is she married to? How did that happen? Where is that person? All of these things are going to be fodder for next season."

"Scorpion" Season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 3 at 9PM on CBS.
