"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" has brought audiences back into franchise, mainly reintroducing the classic elements into modern technologies and storytelling. Besides seeing the X-Wings, Millenium Falcon, and beloved characters, fans have noticed the rift between the galaxy's most beloved couple, Han Solo (famously played by Harrison Ford) and Princess (now General) Leia Skywalker. Actress Carrie Fisher gets to explain more on this.
The actress playing the iconic Princess Leia explained that what caused the couple to split in a Q & A session at the Saskatoon Comic & Entertainer Expo is Han Solo's lifestyle and choice of friends, albeit in a frank and humorous way, according to Gamespot. "[Han] smuggled way too much," as the actress joked in the official Facebook page of the Expo. She also mentioned that her smuggler of a husband also constantly hung out with his companion, Chewbacca. Fisher also joked that Han would not take her on one of her "hyperspace thing" enough, which may also be a euphemism for "something" else.
In other news, Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver mentions in Collider that the next movie will be "darker," similar to the tones of "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back." He believes that "Episode VIII's" director Rian Johnson trusts that the "audience is ready for nuance and ambiguity."
Already finished with the shooting, "Star Wars Episode VIII" is already in post-production way ahead of its release on Dec. 15, 2017. The movie is said to star Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Laura Dern, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.
