Amid celebration of National Coming Out Day for the LGBTQ community on Tuesday, many fans noticed Taeyeon's Instagram post, which they claimed to be in line with the celebration.
According to Allkpop, fans of the Girls' Generation member are betting that Taeyeon showed her support to the LGBTQ community in her recent Instagram post. Although the idol did not write something under the colorful photo except a unicorn emoji, fans thought Taeyeon's Instagram post was intended for the National Coming Out Day.
Many of her Instagram followers were elated that the Girls' Generation seemingly supports the LGBTQ community. A commenter said, "If she supports LGBT it's a good thing not a bad thing. This shows she very open minded."
While many are happy about the idea, others were left puzzled about the message behind the photo. Some commenters are even questioning Taeyeon's sexuality, confusing the photo as a sign of coming out.
However, Taeyeon's fans came to rescue her and said this was not the first time the Girls' Generation member posted something about LGBTQ. While it remains to be ambiguous whether Taeyeon supports the LGBTQ community, other idols are more open about their stand about the matter.
Some idols including Super Junior's Heechul, 2NE1's CL, JYJ's Jaejoong and SHINee's Jonghyun are vocal about their support to the LGBTQ community and believe in equality and anti-discrimination.
