Milwauke Bucks made a surprising trade by letting go point guard Michael Carter-Williams to Chicago Bulls for guard Tony Snell

Chicago Bulls are reported to have finalized the trade deal with Milwaukee Bucks last Saturday to land Carter-Williams onboard, according to  Chicago Tribune. Carter-Williams will come off-the-bench in Chicago Bulls as the reserved for Rajon Rondo

The trade is surprising, because Carter-Williams is known to be a good point guard and he averaged 14.5 points and 6.1 assists per game. While Snell is a shooting guard with less impressive statistics with only 5.3 points per game. However Carter-Williams 'defensive trait is not suitable for the system developed by head coach Jason Kidd.

Both Carter-Williams and Snell were drafted in the same year in 2013. Carter-Williams was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers as an 11th overall, while Chicago Bulls drafted Snell in 20th pick.

In his tenure with Philadelphia 76ers, Carter-Williams averaged 15.9 points and 6.9 assists per game. He also had strong rebound skills with 6.2 rebounds per game. In February 2015, the Sixers traded him to Milwaukee Bucks in a trade deal that involved Phoenix Suns. He played 25 games for Bucks in the 2014-15 season and averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.

The 6'6" point guard started the 2015-16 season with an impressive performance for Bucks. However he had to miss five games after an ankle injury sidelined him at the beginning of the game. During his absence, guard Giannis Antetokounmpo stepped up as and showing off his athleticism and versatility to replace him in point guard position, as reported by Bleacher Report .

Following his injury, Carter-Williams spent the entire season mostly from off-the-bench. His game performance also reduced gradually. Moreover, last March, another injury troubled him as he must receive a hip surgery. Coach Kidd decided to trade him to Bulls and obtaining Snell, whose statistics was less impressive than Carter-Williams.
