While "Game of Thrones" is on hiatus break, Conan O'Brien is still showing his support as a fan for the HBO smash series. On Tuesday, the late night talk show host revealed in a spoof the Iron Throne's rightful heir.
The two-minute clip, uploaded on O'Brien's Youtube channel, sees the host rehearsing his opening monologue with Andy Richter about the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 finale. A few seconds later, a raven arrives to send a message to Richter informing him that he is truly the rightful successor to the throne. But here's the catch: he needs to wire 50,000 gold coins to the Iron Bank of Nigeria via Western Union.
"That sounds a little fishy to me," O'Brien said.
"Can't you just be happy that something good has happened to me?" replied Richter.
When the last raven flew in, Andy was ordered by the anonymous person to send his social security number to verify the transaction and send an email to kingofwesteros@notscam.biz. Convinced that it is just one huge scam, the closing moments finally revealed that someone from Westeros is actually sending all the messages to Richter.
The video now has more than 80,000 hits on the digital platform.
Back in July at Comic Con, O'Brien pulled off another hilarious "Game of Thrones" sketch as he impersonated the terrifying version of Melisandre as the Red Lady. The bit showed Conan checking-in at a hotel room in San Diego. After engaging in small talks with the chatty bellboy (Andy Daly), Conan settles in and unveils his deep dark secret as the wrinkly, old lady.
Conan airs every Monday through Thursday at 11PM on TBS.
