"Gotham" has cast "Banshee" star Ivana Milicevic to play Selina Kyle's mother in Season 3.
"Gotham" fans will finally see Selina reuniting with her long-lost mother this season. As first learned by The Hollywood Reporter, producers of the DC series have tapped Milicevic to play the role of Maria Kyle, who's described as a tough-as-nails operator with an arsenal of street smarts. Selina's mother is also known for being a world class drifter and has the ability to hide her true self behind multiple personalities.
Albeit her strong personality and criminal records, Maria has only one weakness - her daughter, Selina. She is the "only person in the world she truly loves," per the casting intel. However, her relationship with Selena is not all happy and smiles.
"It doesn't really go the way Selina expected it to.... It doesn't take a good turn!" Selina's portrayer, Camren Bicondova recently previewed in a report from TV Line.
Viewers of "Gotham" should expect to see Maria appearing in a recurring basis throughout Season 3. It is yet to be determined whether or not the duo's estranged relationship will change as the season progress.
Aside from her lead role in "Banhsee," Milicevic has also appeared on "Casino Royale," "Power," "12 Miles of Bad Road," "Eastwick" and "Love Monkey."
Next Monday's installment of "Gotham" will find Barnes beginning to feel the effects of a recent incident and begins to go mad. In minor arcs, viewers will find Carmine throwing Lee and Mario an engagement party.
The episode, titled "Blood Rus," is slated to air on Nov. 7 at 8PM on FOX.
