Caleb and Cody Walker, brothers of the late Paul Walker, recently addressed Paul's possible cameo appearance on the hotly-awaited "Fast 8."
While eager fans wait for the release of "Fast 8," it is still an ongoing discussion whether or not Paul Walker's character will be making a cameo on the upcoming sequel. In a September interview with ET Online, Caleb and Cody Walker might have given the film franchise's millions of fans a glimmer of hope. Addressing their late brother's involvement, they shared that there had been a discussion with lead star Vin Diesel.
"I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back," Caleb said.
"He wanted [our] blessing," explaining that Diesel wanted their approval if it "would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul's character back... to really kind of let his fans know he's still out there."
Cody, for his part, noted that the film's production company is very respectful of Paul's family.
"Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family."
While this does not guarantee anything, the statement of Cody and Caleb certainly bears a strong impact on Paul's involvement with "Fast 8." Now that the movie has wrapped-up production, producers nor Diesel himself have remained tight-lipped about the issue.
Brian O' Conner has been a fan-favorite character of the "Fast and the Furious" franchise. Even if he is not physically present in the upcoming sequel, it is still safe to assume that his presence can still be felt. It is also worth noting that the official plot details of the film have not yet been released, but Diesel already offered that it is going to be emotional for his character.
"Fast 8 is different. It's very dark," Diesel previewed.
"My character is conflicted in a way that is really going to shock you. He's coming off of a lot of emotion from 7 and the loss that 7 represents."
"Fast 8" hits theaters on April 2017.
