In anticipation of the upcoming "Stranger Things" Season 2, Netflix has released a mock news report to tease its fans for next year. The news report seems to shed light on the mysterious cases that revolve around Hawkins, Indiana, which pinpoints a few of the major plot points of Season 1.

Warning: SPOILERS below!

According to IGN, Netflix was able to set up on what seems to be an "archival newsreel" from 5 WIYZ, a fictional news station in "Stranger Things." Here reporting is the fictional news reporter Brenda Wood tackling on the mysterious disappearance of Barbara Holland (Shannon Purser).

The news reporter had several mentions about Barbara and her friend Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) and her brother Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), of whom she made mention of the disappearance of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) as a side note.

News reporter Brenda Wood also mentioned about "youths turning to crime" when she referred to the incident in Bradley's Big Buy, the fictional grocery store in the show. She mentioned about a young girl - Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) - who stole an "unprecedented amount" of Eggo Waffles. The store clerk reported that the grocery carts were "flying down the aisles" and automated doors "malfunctioning." The news reporter urged viewers to report any appearances of the "unnamed" girl to Sheriff Jim Hopper (David Harbour).

"Stranger Things" creators Matt and Ross Duffer will be returning to write and executive produce Season 2, which will span a total of nine episodes. Along with Season 2 having more episodes than the first, reports say that it will be weirder and darker than Season 1.

Earlier reports have also claimed that actress Millie Bobbie Brown will return as Eleven in the highly-awaited "Stranger Things" Season 2. At the end of Season 1, Sheriff Hopper left some food in the woods which may hint that the telekinetic hero may still be alive somewhere.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 will be debuting on Netflix in 2017.
