"Avengers: Age of Ultron" actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson said that he wants to come back as Quicksilver in the MCU if he is given the chance.
Taylor-Johnson is promoting his upcoming film "Nocturnal Animals" when he was asked if he would want to reprise the role. The actor replied in the affirmative. However, when asked if his return is imminent in the future MCU films, he played coy, MCU Exchange reported.
"I don't have any knowledge I could share with you if I did," he said.
For the uninitiated, Quicksilver met a heroic end in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" to save Hawkeye in the aftermath of the final faceoff against Ultron. Previously, Taylor-Johnson said that Marvel actually designed a costume just in case the character did not die.
"It's [the] Marvel universe. It was very much our intention to kind of go the way we did. There was a costume designed for whether... if I didn't [die]. Which was fucking really cool. I was like, 'Oh my God,'" he said.
Whether or not the character will comeback still remains to be seen but it seems that the character is done for now since Taylor-Johnson's deal with Marvel was only for one film, Cinema Blend reported. Marvel boss Kevin Feige backed this by saying flatly, "Quicksilver is DEAD. 100%, he's not coming back any time soon, there are no plans."
However, fans are not quick to dismiss the idea yet since the coming of "Doctor Strange" opens a new realm of possibilities. There's also the possibility of having the Infinity Gauntlet involved which had been used in the comics to bring people back to life.
