A lot of game leaks have been going on lately and so far we've been hearing about a remastered "Crash Bandicoot" to be possibly announced in the PlayStation Experience event this year.
It may be one of those peculiar cases where game information are leaked from unexpected sources. Such is the case with Brazilian retailer website Zilliongames where they may have put the "Crash Bandicoot" remastered games along with its release date of Feb. 28, 2017 and a supposed box art of the game on its digital shelves.
As much as want to get more official information on the big wig itself, Sony hasn't really commented on the case and no announcements on actual release dates of the supposed "Crash Bandicoot" remastered games have surfaced yet. But one thing's for sure, Sony did promise earlier that they are currently developing three remastered titles of the three "Crash Bandicoot" games from the first PlayStation console, that is "Crash Bandicoot", "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back" and "Crash Bandicoot: Warped".
Even Naughty Dog had the subtlety to tease "Crash" fans about the game in their latest title of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," where the protagonist Nathan Drake was playing "Crash Bandicoot" on Elena's PlayStation 1 console in a cut scene.
Jim Ryan, head of PlayStation Europe, teased fans that Sony and Activision would decide on the potential future of the "Crash" games even if it's already obvious on the game's inevitability.
According to reports from YIBADA, the possibility of getting a "Crash Bandicoot" remaster lies on the fact Activision is also purchasing licensing rights to the game. Even more, they might actually be the ones who will develop the the three "Crash" remastered games. Although these may be just speculations, it seems logical enough.
Earlier reports also covered the news of the character of Crash appearing in Activision's "Skylanders Academy" in Netflix, featuring the iconic anthropomorphic bandicoot actually speaking in an Australian accent.
So far, we have yet to hear anything more solid about the "Crash Bandicoot" remastered games. So here's to hoping that there will be more announcements soon in PSX 2016.
