Preview

It would be the second game of a back-to-back for the Kings this Friday as they travel from Sacramento to Portland for this match against the Blazers.

Sacramento's two-game winning run was halted by the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday at the Staples Center as the Kings lost, 101-91, after leading by as much as 19 points in the first half, as per the Sacramento Bee.

DeMarcus Cousins again led the Kings with 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals shooting 10-for-25 from the field. He had a slight altercation with Lakers power forward Julius Randle after the final buzzer, but it did not escalate into something that would lead to any fines or suspensions.

"I think our defense broke down towards the end. We let them get a lot of shots that they can hit and that gave them confidence," said Cousins. "We should have buried them in the second half. But we gave them confidence and some momentum in this game for them to finish it out the way they did."

Rudy Gay had 15 points, eight rebounds, and two steals for the Kings while starting point guard Ty Lawson chipped in 11 points, one assist, and two steals, shooting 2-for-3 from downtown.

Meanwhile, the Blazers also snapped a three-game winning run after being demolished by the Los Angeles Clippers, 111-80, at the Staples Center on Wednesday, Yahoo Sports reported.

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum both struggled in the game as the Clippers clamped the two players down. Lillard, who is currently the league's second-leading scorer with 32.8 points per game, ended with only eight points on 1-for-10 field shooting while McCollum was also limited to eight points, shooting 4-for-11 from the field.

It was a quiet night for the Blazers backcourt and no one stepped up to prevent the loss.

"We got our (rear ends) whupped," said Lillard. "They had a lot of energy and they wanted it more than we did. They hurt us on the glass and we didn't take anything away from them."

Prediction

The game is hard to call as both teams are coming off demoralizing defeats. It is an advantage for the Blazers as they will be playing in front of their home crowd so a close win for Portland is predicted.
