While developer BioWare recently announced that "Mass Effect Andromeda" would be moved to early 2017 instead of this holiday season, they are putting the extra time to work.
Mac Walters recently mentioned several aspects of the game that is under review. These include verticality which improves the level design, meaning players will see newer movement options in the game. The company is also said to be reviewing a few more loyalty missions and character customization options. Newer content is still being added to the game but due to that a lot of fans are thinking that there might be more delays incoming.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" takes place in the aptly named Andromeda galaxy as opposed to the original "Mass Effect" series which took place in the Milky Way. With this new galaxy, the developers have teased new races such as the Kett which is described as an organic race. Trailers have also featured parts of the story including the 600-year voyage to the Andromeda galaxy. Players will control a Pathfinder named Ryder and these Pathfinders are said to be a mix of elite qualities from scientists, guides, as well as soldiers.
The game has also teased a new crew with familiar alien races such as the Salarian and the Asari. Players will control a new ship and other monstrous ships have also been featured which have a bit of similarity to the antagonists of the first trilogy, the Reapers. Bioware has mentioned that the game will retain a lot of flexibility in terms of crew members, getting missions, and customizing the main character of the game. The male and female versions of Ryder are said to be brother and sister. If you choose one, the other is said to be existing somewhere in the universe.
Other features of the game that have been promised include destructible environments and all new weapons as well as Biotics. The game will also feature multiplayer capabilities with up to 4 players in the game at the same time. "Mass Effect Andromeda" will also feature a deluxe edition, packed with additional content.
