As "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" draws near to its premiere date in cinemas, "Resident Evil" filmmakers Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt have taken sights to producing the next line of Capcom-based films, the "Monster Hunter" franchise.

They actually planned on producing the film adaptation on the popular Capcom franchise for quite some time. With Paul W.S. Anderson's interview with Deadline, he pointed out the popularity of the "Monster Hunter" franchise and saw the huge potential in producing a film adaptation, especially when aiming for Japan and China.

"It's huge, a cultural phenomenon in Japan and it's giant in China, where it's an online game that has 15 million paying users," the "Resident Evil" director said.

With Capcom's hit game reached 38 million copies sold to date, Anderson could not contain his excitement when he had the chance to direct a "Monster Film" for the big screen.

According to IGN, the film's tone and style will garner towards the "PG-13 action/adventure" feel, deeming it quite different than previous "Resident Evil" movie franchise, according to filmmaker Jeremy Bolt. He compared the "Monster Hunter" franchise to something similar to both "Star Wars" and "Lord of the Rings," taking note of the fantasy element than "Resident Evil's" survival horror vibe.

Anderson explained that the film revolves an average American citizen who gets warped to another world filled with monsters. "Then eventually the parallel world ends up coming to our world. So you have the creatures from the 'Monster Hunter' world invading our world," he continued on.

Anderson really intended the live adaptation of the "Monster Hunter" franchise to have more than one film with Bolt saying, "we've got about two movies."

There hasn't been any announcement on the release dates of "Monster Hunter." But, while we wait, we have something to look forward to as "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" concludes Alice's story when it premieres on Dec. 23 in Japan and Jan. 27, 2017 in North America.
