"Hot in Cleveland" legendary actress Betty White returns as a guest star in the Fox drama "Bones" Season 12. She has booked a return trip for its final season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, White is currently slated to reprise her role as Dr. Beth Mayer. Her character is without a doubt the world's most experienced forensic anthropologist.
White is accomplished, sharp as a tack, and absolutely fabulous with a half century of work, Deadline reported. She will return in episode 10 of "Bones" final season after originated her role during Season 11.
The final chapter of "Bones" Season 12 will bring the storylines of Booth (David Boreanaz), Brennan (Emily Deschanel), and the Jeffersonian-Federal Bureau of Investigation team to a close. There will also be a wedding, an epic serial killer storyline, a lumberjack competition, and Booth and Brennan's marriage will be put to the test.
In addition to White, "Bones" Season 12 will feature the return of fan-favorite guest stars and squinterns, as well as an old flame from one of the team's past. White joins the series cast a year after TV Land said farewell to her first-scripted comedy "Hot in Cleveland." The comedy earned her an Emmy nomination for her role as the snarky but lovable caretaker Elka.
White most recently guest starred in "SpongeBob Square Pants" and on NBC's short-lived "Crowded" that "Hot in Cleveland" boss Suzanne Martin created. Her seventh Emmy award came in 2010 for guest actress in a comedy series for hosting an episode of "Saturday Night Live," which was one of the highest-rated in the show's history.
On the feature side, White also most recently voiced Grammy Norma in the animated take on "The Lorax." She is represented by APA, and her career spanned more than 70 years.
The shortened 12-episode final season of "Bones" returns on Jan. 3, 2017, Tuesday, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
