On Dec. 2, the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards" has presented a collaboration video between TWICE and IOI. The 85-seconder video featured the two girl groups as miniature fairies stuck inside a gift box.
Although the collaboration video of TWICE and IOI was well-received by their fans, a concert director claimed the idea was somewhat similar to a video he has produced for EXO, Allkpop reported.
Kwon Soon Wook took to his Twitter account to air his displeasure after seeing the collaboration video at the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards," calling out the people behind the video that it is not right to copy someone else's work.
"They copied the coffee fairies and music fairies videos that I made for EXOlution and EXOrdium. Please don't do that," Kwon posted.
Meanwhile, the director's post captured the attention of the netizens who immediately compared the two videos Kwon was talking about. Some fans agreed with EXO's concert director, while others slammed Kwon for his claims.
Too similar to be ignored, it's like mashed up of two EXO's VCR from EXOlution and EXOrdium," a netizen wrote. Another one retorted, "He can't be the only one who thought of that concept!"
Meanwhile, EXO performed "Transformer" and "Monster" during the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards," Billboard cited. The two songs are from the boy group's "Exodus" and "Ex'Act" albums, respectively.
In addition, EXO won a couple awards at the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards" namely, Album of the Year for "Ex'Act," Best Male Group award and Best Asian Style Award. While Baekhyun was awarded with Best Collaboration award alongside Suzy for the song "Dream."
