The new "DuckTales" reboot is coming back soon to television and Disney XD has now unveiled an official teaser trailer for the upcoming series.
According to Comicbook, Disney XD is bringing back the Disney series classic back then from the 80s/90s. The original series tells of the adventure of Donald Duck's rich tycoon uncle, Scrooge McDuck, flying across the globe with the comedic pilot, Launchpad McQuack, to embark on adventures and find treasures from ancient cultures. Usually joining them is the young, brash and smart yet mischevious nephew trio Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Joining the new series is recurring character Webbigail Vanderquack , the granddaughter of Scrooge's maid, who has been recast as a series regular and has been "reinvented" the most. Teaser trailers and images have also shown Donald Duck himself to be joining the crew for the adventures.
The "DuckTales" reboot was first announced back in 2015, with Matt Youngberg, an Annie Award nominee known for "Ben 10: Omniverse," executive producing Disney XD's new animated series, along with Francisco Angones as story editor and co-producer, and Sean Jimenez ("Gravity Falls") as art director.
Marc Buhaj, senior vice president of programming and the general manager of Disney XD, mentioend in a statement during the reboot show's announcement:
"'DuckTales' has a special place in Disney's TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks' comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation."
New teaser art for the "DuckTales" reboot has already been shown on the back of the comic book "DuckTales Cinestory" Volume 1, the first of the series that retells the first five episodes of the classic TV series.
"DuckTales" reboot will air on Disney XD in summer 2017.
