"Modern Family" continues to reap success on ratings and critical acclaim. But one of the lead actors, in his recent interview, reveals that one of the most popular TV series today may not last long.

Nearing the End

Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cameron Tucker in "Modern Family" recently spoke with People magazine and he immediately talked about the comedy, mockumentary series. In the interview, he reveals that the series may not last long and even though he points out that the series is on its "twilight" they are looking to end the series strong.

As of this writing, the TV series is already on its 8th season with the 9th episode scheduled on Dec 14. Counting the upcoming episode, "Modern Family" has already produced 175 episodes.

Shaking Things Up

"Modern Family" is already on its 8th season and may run its course soon but they could shake some things up to get it more interesting. Uproxx deduces that the writers may shake things a little bit - just to get the storyline in a different direction.

But Stonestreet's interview has also revealed something they wanted to do in the show: get Joe Manganiello before the series ends. Manganiello is known for his role in the film "Magic Mike" and its sequel "Magic Mike XXL." Although he doesn't have any direct story that would need him in the series, he is married to Sofia Vergara who plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the show.

"Modern Family" may finally end after a couple of seasons but it is known for groundbreaking storylines related to LGBTQ. Aside from featuring a gay couple as one of the main stars, they are also the first to cast an openly transgender child in the series. Their efforts in the mockumentary style series has paid off as they continue to reap Emmys and Golden Globes.
