Jung Joon Young may be returning to "2 Days and 1 Night" very soon. This news emerged after the singer was featured in the recent Kim Jong Min special of the show.
On the Dec. 11 episode of "2Days and 1 Night," Jong Min, who is celebrating his ninth year on the show, was shown video messages from friends and past co-members from 2D1N Seasons 1 to 3. Jung was one of those who sent a video message and what he said caught the attention of many.
In the video, Jung wished Jong Min well and told him that he will see everyone soon and they can continue to make memories through the trips on their "2 Days and 1 Night" show. The variety show's PD admitted that this might be Jung's way of saying that he will be returning very soon.
"I think he was saying that he will see the members once he come back to Korea from France," Yoo Il Yong PD told YTN Korea in an interview. "To be honest, we are in the midst of starting talks to bring Jung Joon Young back in the show."
The PD further said that although they want the youngest member of "2 Days and 1 Night" to return quickly, the production team cannot make the decision alone. This implies that they still need the permission of the higher ups to get Jung back on the show.
As everyone knows, Jung is currently on hiatus and has been absent from "2 Days and 2 Night" for almost three months now. He decided to take a break after his sexual harassment scandal broke out in September.
On Sept. 25, EDaily reported that former girlfriend sued Jung for sexual assault. She alleged that Jung filmed their intimate moments without her knowledge. However, the woman drop the charges the next day and admitted that the filming was mutual.
Jung explained that his ex-girlfriend may have acted on impulse when she filed the case, because she felt neglected when he became very busy with his work. He said that he will not sue his ex and will just move on from the incident instead.
