Netizens can't help but notice the timing of Kim Ji Soo's Instagram post on the broadcast of drama series "Hwarang" where she currently stars with Park Seo Joon, Go Ara, and Park Hyung Sik.
According to Allkpop, the actress took to her Instagram account Tuesday to share a still shot of her previous project and wrote, "Always being able to do good projects is difficult. Often I start something because it seems great but then it goes off-course...there are many unexpected factors..."
The Instagram post earned mixed response from the netizens. Many of them slammed Kim Ji Soo for likely criticizing "Hwarang," accusing the actress for not liking her current project. "Even if you don't like the drama so much, there are many people who worked hard. You're putting all of them down," a netizen wrote.
Other netizens accused Kim Ji Soo of being dissatisfied with her character on "Hwarang." The 44-year-old actress takes the role of Queen Mother of Jiso in the drama. "She's just sad because now she has to play someone's mom," a commenter said.
Kim Ji Soo was confirmed to be part of the "Hwarang" lineup in March as per her label, Namoo Actors. "Kim Ji Soo will play the strong and charismatic female character," a rep said as cited by Kpopherald.
The source went on, "Dubbed as the "ice witch," empress dowager Jiso is a cold and charismatic person with lofty ambition, contrary to her elegant looks."
"Hwarang" aired its first episode on Dec. 19 and earned a viewership rating of 6.9 percent. The new drama currently sits at the second spot for dramas airing on Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 KST in terms of viewership.
The KBS2 historical drama revolves around the story of Hwarang, a group of male youth in the Shilla Era. "Hwarang" also stars V of BTS, Choi Minho of SHINee, Do Ji Han, Jo Yoon Woo, and Choi Won Young.
