The Philadelphia 76ers has a very interesting problem in their hands: their front court is jammed with some of the most impressive big men in the league today. Placing all these big men in the game is fun challenge - although it could cost them a game or two in the long run.
Neol Returns, Embiid's Best
Jahlil Okafor recently returned to the lineup of the 76ers after missing a few games and things got immediately interesting as the team is immediately loaded with big men who can play. Both big men recently started the game and their output was quite impressive. Okafor and Embiid both scored 11 points in their recent loss Brooklyn Nets according to Yahoo Sports with 7 and 6 rebounds, respectively.
Their impressive number has actually outshined another big man who recently returned to the active roster: Nerlens Noel. Last season, the 6-11 big man from Kentucky averaged 11.1 points with 67 games played. He also played an average 29.19 minutes a game last season. His current stats: 4.7 points with 3 games played.
Unfortunately for Noel, his minutes looks like to stay that way for the rest of the season if everyone remains healthy. According to Uproxx, Noel will be out of rotation in order to give way to Okafor and Embiid. These two big men will be a great one-two punch if they could both master the post.
Small Forward for the Big Three?
There is an idea that one of them could be a small forward while the other two plays the four and five position. Embiid is the best bet for the position and would allow Noel and Okafor to wreck the front court and pest the upcoming offense. Of course, there might some trade-off in speed but he could still stretch the court with his three point bombs.
