Yoo Jae Suk has bagged the highest award at the "2016 MBC Entertainment Awards" held on Dec. 29; however, the comedian is under fire for his acceptance speech which allegedly suggested that he was a supporter of the "left."
According to Allkpop, Yoo Jae Suk said he has learned a lot of things on "Infinite Challenge," particularly about Korean history. "I realized that when a nation goes through a difficult time, it is the people who rescue the country, that it's the people who are the true owners of a nation," he said.
The comedian continued, "These days, people use the expression, 'to walk on a flower path' a lot. I wish for the new year to be a year where all of Korea's citizens can walk on the flower path, not just a few people."
While many netizens commended Yoo Jae Suk for his acceptance speech which they said was timely because of the current situation of the Korean politics, others, particularly the supporters of President Park Geun Hye, were angered and even attacked the comedian with hate comments.
"Good. It's clear now that he is on the "left" (politically opposing President Park). I think we should boycott what he endorses," a netizen wrote. Another President Park supporter said, "I think all of the "Infinity Challenge" members are on the 'left.' Just shut down the show and ban all of them from being on TV!"
On the other hand, the recent Grand Prize at the "2016 MBC Entertainment Awards" was Yoo Jae Suk's 13th since his career started, Soompi revealed. During his acceptance speech, the comedian did not forget to mention former cast member of "Infinite Challenge" Jung Hyung Don.
He also thanked his wife and son as well other nominees for the Grand Prize of the "2016 MBC Entertainment Awards."
Congratulations for winning your 13th Grand Prize, Yoo Jae Suk!
