In the previous years, IU has been reported to have filed lawsuits against netizens for allegedly spreading false rumors against her. And just recently, the K-Pop singer won 11 of them and promised to continue their battle against defamation.

According to Soompi, Loen Entertainment revealed IU is demanding monetary compensation from these 11 perpetrators for their offensive acts.  "We had planned on revealing the details behind the charges," the agency said.

It continued, "But we deemed the comments too indecent to reveal because they contained sexually offensive phrases and malicious slander. We concluded that publicizing them would hurt IU, her family, and her fans even more.'

Loen Entertainment ended the statement with a promise to pursue filing charges against netizens who bear false rumors about IU.

In 2015, IU was reported to have filed charges against a number of netizens for their comments about the K-Pop artist. Allkpop cited the lawsuits were filed at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station.

Further reports claimed, the first batch of lawsuits was followed by another one which was filed by Loen Entertainment on behalf of IU. The agency said they have presented copies of the fake images posted by netizens as evidence to file charges.

A couple of years before that, IU's party also filed charges against her haters for allegedly defaming the image of the K-Pop singer; however, the K-Pop artist previously asked the offenders to do community service for 200 hours.

On the other hand, IU's decision to sue her haters received mixed response from the netizens. Some of them said the idol should not have entered the industry if she could not handle hate comments.

While others commended IU for making an effort to sue offensive netizens in order to stop them from doing such act against other artists.
