"Descendants of the Sun's" Song-Song couple earned majority of the votes from a survey conducted among netizens on which drama couples they would like to see dating in real life.
According to Allkpop, the respondents were composed of 2,000 men and women between ages 20-60. The survey was initiated by an online platform called Tillion, which revealed the results on Tuesday.
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo revealed to be the most favorite drama couple that netizens wish to become real-life sweethearts. Results revealed 16.4 percent of the respondents chose the Song-Song couple.
The "Descendants of the Sun" actors were followed by Hyun Woo and Lee Se Young who starred on "Laurel Tree Tailors." Sitting at third were "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" actors Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung with 8.7 percent.
Trailing at the fourth spot were Yoo Yeun Sook and Seo Hyun Jin for their on-screen chemistry on "Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim." Also, Sung Hoon and Shin Hye Sun took the fifth spot for "Five Enough."
The results came a few days after the Song-Song couple won the Grand Prize and Best Couple Award at the "2016 KBS Drama Awards," Korea Herald cited. The recognitions can be attributed to the success of "Descendants of the Sun."
Both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were emotional upon receiving their awards at the stage of the "2016 KBS Drama Awards" on Saturday. The Song-Song couple expressed their gratitude to the people behind the drama series for trusting them to play the roles.
"I give my thanks to those who trusted the fresh-out-of-army me. I started with nothing. Thank you for bringing me here," Song Joong Ki said in his acceptance speech.
On the other hand, Song Hye Kyo admitted she was hesitant when she was approached to take part on "Descendants of the Sun." She said, "I thank the people who have trusted me with the role. I was very happy during the time we filmed this."
At the end of their respective acceptance speech, the Song-Song couple did not forget to thank each other.
