Just a few days ago, reports claimed Wonder Girls is currently in search for a new agency as their contract with JYP Entertainment will soon expire.
According to Soompi, sources from different agencies revealed the girl group has been in contact with other labels for opportunities. "It's true that we discussed transferring with one Wonder Girls member," it said.
The source added, "However, their contract has not expired yet, so it is difficult to reveal anything since we are still in discussion."
Another source revealed, "There's a member who is looking for a place that will support her musically and there's a member who is looking for a company who will consider branching out into acting and being an MC."
Amid speculations, JYP Entertainment clarified they have yet to discuss the renewal of Wonder Girls' contract. The label said the discussions have been delayed after Yubin's father passed away.
JYP Entertainment added they are unaware that the Wonder Girls members are looking for prospect agencies. However, fans were flustered when the girl group's photo was taken down from the JYP building, Allkpop cited.
The act raised speculations that Wonder Girls could be leaving JYP Entertainment after their contracts expire. Meanwhile, many of their fans slammed the label for removing the photo without providing any reasons.
"Firstly I expected the news, HOWEVER, I figured JYP would have the decency to inform the fans FIRST, before proceeding to remove the sign/photo from the building," a fan wrote.
Another commenter said, "JYP screwed them over when he sent them to the States. They were doing so well in Korea at the time."
On the other hand, fans are hopeful that the Wonder Girls members will stick together as a group just like 2AM who refused to disband even after their contract expired with JYP Entertainment.
