Behind-the-scenes photos for "The Flash" Season 3 revealed a reshoot for Iris' death scene. This time though, Wally, Cisco and Julian are with Barry Allen to witness Savitar kill Iris.
Casts took to the street of Vancouver on Thursday to reshoot Iris' murder from the Season 2 midseason finale. Photos from the filming show Candice Patton (Iris West) and Grant Gustin (Barry Allen) suited up in the same outfits they wore in the finale. They are also at the same location where Barry saw his future self, plead Savitar not to kill Iris.
According to Hollywoodnorth.buzz, this reshoot is for "The Flash" Season 3 episode 15. This scene is also different from the midseason finale, since there are more people who witnessed Iris' death. Iris' brother Wally West aka Kid Flash, Cisco Ramon aka Vibe and Julian Albert are there too.
One photo from the publication clearly shows Kevin Lonsdale (Wally) standing among the production crew, looking down at someone on the ground. Meanwhile, the same photo shows Gustin in his superhero suit kneeling on the ground as he holds what appears to be Patton lying unconscious. This setup is reminiscent of Iris' death scene in "The Flash" Season 3 midseason finale.
However, it is hard to see where Carlos Valdes (Cisco) and Tom Felton (Julian) are in the crowd. It is unclear what actually transpired in this scene. The presence of Cisco, Wally and Julian hints they are about to change Iris' fate. Perhaps they found a way to prevent Savitar from killing Iris.
Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg teased that Barry and team already have a plan to prevent Iris' death. He said the team is confident that they can find a way to prevent it from happening, since they now "have a list of things they know will occur between now and May."
"They've got a mission every week to see if they can change the future," Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly.
