Before he became the Grim Reaper for "Goblin," Lee Dong Wook was known as Seol Gong Chan from "My Girl." His role in the 2005 drama series made him even more popular not only in Korea, but also in other Asian countries like the Philippines.
In fact, the Korean actor even visited the Philippines to personally thank his fans for supporting "My Girl." Ten years after Lee Dong Wook's trip, fans are now sharing the actor's video of his appearance on a Filipino show.
According to Koreaboo, fans started sharing Lee Dong Wook's throwback video after the success of his recent drama, "Goblin." In the video, the Korean actor appeared on "Wowowee" to promote "My Girl," which was popular in the Philippines back then.
Despite the language barrier, Lee Dong Wook greeted his fans through an interpreter and even tried to speak the Filipino language. When asked about his ideal type, the actor said he likes smart and wise girl.
The "Goblin" actor even described Filipino women as "very beautiful and attractive." Lee Dong Wook also thanked his fans for their support, admitting that he has no idea that he was famous in the Philippines.
Before leaving the "Wowowee" studio, Lee Dong Wook surprised his Filipino fans by saying, "Mahal ko kayo! Maraming salamat!" which means "I love you! Thank you!"
Meanwhile, Allkpop reported the 35-year-old actor will have an Asian fan meeting tour. King Kong Entertainment announced Lee Dong Wook will begin his tour in Seoul on March 12.
Other than the schedule of his Seoul fan meeting event, Lee Dong Wook's agency refused to reveal further details of the planned Asian fan meeting tour.
"Lee Dong Wook will be continuing his busy schedule after the end of his drama. He's preparing for the fan meeting amidst his schedule. Please look forward to it," the label said.
