While many would refuse to browse their social media newsfeed to avoid Game of Thrones spoilers, a new app called Spoiled.io will automatically inform friends of users about the upcoming episodes via text messages.
For just $0.99 for a friend, the new app will directly and anonymously send updates about HBO's hit fantasy series on your friends' numbers. Right after every episode; all the juiciest twist and shocking revelations will go right straight to their cellphones.
The messages will last until the latest episode, South China Morning Post reported.
The app was tested on Tuesday, which is late for the show which airs on Sundays, so it cannot be confirmed if the app works. However, there is one more episode remaining in the season to discover how the app works.
But to spice up the spoiliers, Spoiled.io will also expose your friends' social media responses.
To register a friend, simply sign up to the Spoiled.io website, enter your friend's phone number and enjoy the thought of the news going under your friends' skins. The app also supports international numbers, "our text messaging ravens have learned to cross the narrow sea."
But why is the app cheap? The FAQ section of the website explains: "How else is a Lannister going to pay his debts?"
According to the creators, the spoiler app was inspired by a Reddit thread where a woman took revenge on her boyfriend by spoiling Game of Thrones for him.
