I.O.I's Kim Sohye has ventured into the business world as she recently opened a coffee shop and held a fan signing event at the venue.
"Penguin's Café was opened today in order to provide a space where S&P Entertainment and Kim Sohye can connect with fans," the agency said on Tuesday, June 22, according to Soompi.
Lots of fans reportedly lined up ahead of the event.
"So many people came to extend their congratulations. Because so many people came, I felt bad that I couldn't properly take care of everyone," the singer wrote on S&P Entertainment's website.
Sohye's fans have welcomed her new business. "Sohye came up with the idea of that fan meet and I think a lot of fans were grateful," one fan commented online, according to Netizen Buzz blogspot. "It's actually in an average location too despite her being a star. So many other celebrity families who start cafes hike up the prices to be too expensive. I think Sohye's doing fine."
Sohye reportedly autographed 100 frames and handed them out to the café's first 100 customers.
So if you happen to be in Seoul, you can visit the said café in Seocho-gu.
Meanwhile, Kim Sohye also recently signed up under S&P Entertainment earlier this week, according to the International Business Times.
"Kim Sohye... is promoting in activities as an I.O.I member after debuting through being selected as fifth place on Produce 101. In order to support Kim Sohye in a variety of different entertainment industry activities, S&P Entertainment was created," a statement from the company said.
The statement also announced that the singer will continue to "participate in I.O.I's first unit group promotions and her following activities have not been decided yet. If any good opportunities arise, we will carefully review offers and make decisions."
The agency assured her avid fans that nothing will interrupt the singer's I.O.I activities and that it will work "hard and tirelessly in order to repay your support."
