"American Horror Story" fans rejoice, as the sixth season of the hit FX horror anthology just got an official release date.

The "American Horror Story" Season 6 release date has been confirmed for Sept. 14. The news follows the release of a teaser photo featuring a number "6" that's designed with a question mark.

At this point, not much is known about the official theme for "American Horror Story" Season 6. In an interview with Variety, FX CEO John Landgraf did reveal that the new season will be "set in the present day, and will include flashbacks." The story will be set in two time periods, but will predominantly take place in the present.

"American Horror Story" showrunner Ryan Murphy previously stated that the show is considering two concepts for the upcoming season. "The interesting thing about this season is we've been working on two ideas at once, which we've never done," he told TV Line. He added that the stories they are developing in "American Horror Story" Season 6  "will have a different form" as compared to previous seasons.

Murphy also hinted that "American Horror Story" Season 6 may involve children. "If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying," he said.

As to the cast, Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Cheyenne Jackson and Evan Peters are confirmed to appear in "American Horror Story" Season 6.

After Jessica Lange announced her retirement from "American Horror Story," it was revealed that Lady Gaga would be the show's new muse. The singer-actress was highly-lauded for her acting debut as The Countess in "American Horror Story" Season 5, for which she won a Golden Globe.

Actor Bradley Cooper is also one of the new names being attached to "American Horror Story" Season 6. The Oscar-nominated star was once spotted having dinner with Lady Gaga, and it was later revealed that the two "might be working on a project together." Their meeting sparked rumors of Cooper signing up for "American Horror Story."

The show is notorious for casting top Hollywood actors and actresses. The show's powerhouse ensemble previously included Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Neil Patrick Harris and Chloë Sevigny.

"American Horror Story" Season 6 will return to FX this fall.
