The Season 5 finale of ABC's TV show "Scandal" saw a sad, heartbreaking parting between main character Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington, and Jake Ballard, played by Scott Foley. While fans of Olivia and President Fitzgerald Grant (played by Tony Goldwyn) may have been given hope by this separation, fans of Jake and Olivia are left questioning if there is hope for a happy ending between Jake and Olivia.
Foley thinks it's a yes. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor believes that "Olivia has chosen Jake," and that "there is no question in [his] mind that Olivia has chosen Jake." He hints that although their separation may have been a sad and heartbreaking one in the Season 5 finale, Olivia only left him in order to save his life from Rowan, who threatened to kill him.
Foley also shared that the scene where they "concocted this plan" to escape his wedding together strongly hints that Olivia indeed wanted to be with Jake. If Rowan did not threaten to kill Jake, they would have been able to run away together. Because of this, Olivia was then forced to tell Jake that she did not and never loved him, and that it always have been Fitz in her heart. Despite this, Foley believes that although she couldn't be with him, she very much desires to be.
It seems like Foley isn't the only one rooting for Jake and Olivia to end up together. A poll by Design & Trend shows that about 51 percent of poll answers want Jake and Olivia to end up together in "Scandal" Season 6. This could be the end of "Olitz," as more fans ship Olivia and Jake.
Meanwhile, the same publication also reported that though Washington is pregnant with her second child in real life, the show's production team will work on concealing Washington's baby bump and Olivia will not be pregnant on the show. Added to this, due to Washington's pregnancy, "Scandal" Season 6 premiere will be moved to Jan 2017 to accommodate her condition.
