Korea's biggest, global top-five credit card company Shinhan Card announced on Wednesday that they have chosen South Korean actress Kim Ji Won as the new face of their brand.
Shinhan Card said Kim's bright and lively personality goes well with the company's image, which made them decide to choose the "Descendants Of The Sun" star, Allkpop reported. Kim looked stunningly beautiful in her white dress as she posed for her new endorsement.
The 23-year-old actress who played as First Lieutenant Yoon Myung Ju in "Descendants Of The Sun" started her career in 2008 playing minor roles and making appearances in a number of commercials.
Kim started to create a name in the industry after she landed a lead role in drama "What's Up" in 2010. Since then, her popularity has continued to rise as she appeared in several TV drama series like "High Kick: Revenge Of The Short Legged" in 2011 and "To The Beautiful You" in 2012.
To prove her soaring popularity, the "Descendants Of The Sun" actress recently surpassed one million followers on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo four months since she created her profile, IBTimes noted. In a video uploaded to her account, Kim thanked her fans and promised she will continue to work harder as her career goes on.
Meanwhile, Kim said being a part of "Descendants Of The Sun" has changed her life. "This drama has been a life-changing production for me. Rather than a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I think it has been a turning point in my life," she was quoted saying in an interview.
The actress added, "Of course I'm also thankful to all the productions I've done so far because they helped me become who I am today. But I think 'Descendants of the Sun' might become my representative work."
"Descendants Of The Sun" aired its last episode last April 22, and with that, Kim's fans are thrilled to know what's next for their idol.
