Jung Hyung Don has made a huge decision to end his 10-year service with MBC's "Infinite Challenge" as he finally made up his mind to leave the reality show for good as he battles to recover from a disorder.
Last year, the 38-year-old comedian took a break from all his broadcast activities reportedly due to severe anxiety disorder. FNC Entertainment revealed Jung has been suffering from anxiety disorder, since then, which later became worse. Following the announcement, Jung has not been active in his shows "Infinity Challenge," "Please Take Care Of My Refrigerator," "Our Neighborhood Arts And Physical Education," "Weekly Idol" and "People Of Capacity."
On Friday, the agency announced Jung's official departure from his variety show "Infinite Challenge," stating that the comedian has yet to fully recover from his anxiety disorder, Soompi reported.
FNC Entertainment said, "We are informing you about news regarding Jung Hyung Don who is currently taking a break from broadcast activities due to health reasons. Jung Hyung Don has made the difficult decision of leaving MBC's "Infinite Challenge" of which he was a fixed cast member."
"Jung Hyung Don has always been thankful and has a sorry heart toward the many people who have been unchanging through waiting and sending support. However, his health is not full-recovered to the point he can return to 'Infinite Challenge' and work normally," the agency added.
Further reports revealed that Jung recently had a meeting with the producers regarding his comeback on the MBC show; however, the comedian thought returning to the show might not be a good idea considering his current condition.
Meanwhile, Park Myeong Su, who is a co-star of Jung, is saddened upon learning about Jung's departure from "Infinite Challenge." Although he feels sad that he will no longer be working with Jung for the variety show, Park said he respects the decision of his co-star and wishes him well as he covers, Korea Joongang Daily reported.
