Selena Gomez was greeted by a wild crowd as she arrived in the Philippines for her first Manila concert on Sunday, July 31. Her "Revival" tour is her first world tour after she left her previous label and decided to pursue producing her own album. She is currently working on a follow-up for "Revival."

Gomez, who was managed by her parents since she was 14-years-old, has finally decided to take full charge of her own career. According to Gulf News, Gomez announced during her Singapore tour that she has been writing and recording more new music. "Revival" is her second solo album which made it to the number one spot in the 2015 Billboard 200 chart. Her new album will be a follow-up to the second.

Gomez appeared on "Barney and Friends" at a young age of 7. She then appeared in Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place" and has released three albums with her band called "Selena Gomez and the Scenes." The 24-year-old singer told Rappler that "Revival" was a special album because it was the first time that she became an executive producer for her own song.

Gomez also shared that while she was recording in the studio, she was going through a transitional phase in her life. She wanted people to listen to her new songs and get a kind of mature and adult like vibe.

Her concert in Manila is part of the Asian leg in her world tour. She will be heading to Tokyo on August 2 to 3 and is also slated to perform in Dubai on November 18.
