Turkish Süper Lig squad Besiktas JK is reportedly intending to keep Oguzhan Ozyakup amidst rumors linking the midfielder to English Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal.

Ozyakup, who will turn 24 next month, is rumored to be the target of his former club Arsenal and United' s new head coach Jose Mourinho this summer, but the Black Eagles are not ready to let him go at the moment "after losing key players Mario Gomez and Gokhan Tore" in the ongoing transfer window, according to Caught Offside.

Initial reports were out that head coach Senol Gunes would approve a £20 million bid for his prized midfielder, which the Red Devils are prepared to match, but have changed his mind after a meeting with the player on whether he wants to stay with the Istanbul residents or not.

The boss got a positive answer as the Dutch-born Turkey international is happy suited up at the Vodafone Arena and want to remain for another year, so the deal was called off.

Gunes is said to be intending to utilize Ozyakup as a main key in this plans to compete in the Champions League next season after booking a place in the group stages of the premier club continental competitions by winning the Turkish Süper Lig title last term.

Mourinho, whose current club had been active in the transfer market this summer, is said to be keen on adding Ozyakup to his collection of big-name summer signings such as Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan with Paul Pogba also on his way to the Old Trafford.

The Special One said to have recently asked Ozyakup's former Besiktas mentor, current West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, about the Turkish footballer's profile and the Portuguese boss was reportedly satisfied about what he found out.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star indicated that Arsene Wenger wants the young midfielder back at his club next season, even though the Gunners are not one of the teams included in the list of Ozyakup's potential transfer destinations.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman had previously announced who are the clubs in the running for their player by saying that "when Ozyakup leaves Besiktas it will be for Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid. A club of that caliber".
